Through Their Eyes (excerpt)

INT. MADISON’S LAB - EVENING

Room is lit by glow from computer monitor suspended above MADISON GRANT (30’s), reclined in mechanical chair, monitor on pedestal beside her, wires attached to wrists, chest, beneath eyelids. A glass panel separates her from FAISON(40’s), who operates computer that controls machine attached to MADISON.

FAISON

(into microphone)

Are you ready?

MADISON gives a thumbs up.

MADISON

Let’s do this.

FAISON

(into microphone)

Here we go.

Static appears on monitor, CRACKLE, image focuses. MASKED FACE abruptly appears, hands GRAB at screen, shakes it, hits it, MASKED FACE (20’s) goes in/out of focus several times. MASKED FACE stops, moves back, hesitates, moves in close, eyes peer into SCREEN. MASKED FACE steps away, pulls mask off. SPLATTERS of BLOOD outline eyes and mouth, where skin was not covered by mask, smiles, reaches toward screen, as if to caress it. He stands, unbuckles his belt, lowers pants, smiles. MADISON abruptly sits up. Screen goes BLACK.

MADISON

Did you get that?!

FAISON

(into microphone)

Got it!

MADISON’s eyes open, corneas are milky white/blue, wires inside tear ducts.

MADISON

Then get the hell out here and take these damn things off of me!
